The Pamela Thompson Breast Cancer Foundation
Who We Are
The Pamela Thompson Breast Cancer Foundation (PTBCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting and supporting individuals and families impacted by breast cancer. Guided by compassion, hope, and a commitment to making a difference, we strive to reduce the burdens that breast cancer imposes on our community.
At PTBCF, we understand that the journey through cancer can be overwhelming emotionally, physically, and financially. That’s why we are here. We are not just an organization; we are a lifeline, offering both practical resources and emotional support to help ease the challenges faced by those affected.

Our Story
Pamela Thompson was a vibrant, young African American woman whose life was forever changed by breast cancer. Her story, while personal, reflects a much larger, often overlooked issue that affects many women, especially in communities where resources and awareness are limited.
Breast cancer was not a stranger to Pamela—her family history was marked by multiple women who had struggled with the disease. Yet, despite this knowledge, Pamela was unaware of the crucial importance of early screening and prevention. Tragically, by the time she learned of her diagnosis, it was too late. Pamela’s cancer had advanced to a terminal stage, and she faced the harsh reality of a limited future.
Living in a predominantly African American neighborhood, Pamela found that the resources and support she needed were not readily available. Basic knowledge about family history, early detection, and preventative care were not part of her community’s conversation. The lack of education and access to screenings made it even more difficult for her to seek help in time.
Pamela’s experience highlighted a deep gap in resources for many underserved communities. She faced a heartbreaking reality, but her story also serves as a call to action. It is a reminder of the critical importance of early detection, education, and access to healthcare for everyone, no matter where they live or what their background is.
Pamela Thompson’s legacy lives on through The Pamela Thompson Breast Cancer Foundation, which strives to ensure that no one faces breast cancer without the support, education, and resources they deserve.
Our Core Values
Our foundation’s work is rooted in three key pillars:
- Prevention & Early Detection: Educating individuals about the importance of breast cancer awareness and the power of early detection.
- Comprehensive Support: Offering social, emotional, and financial assistance to those undergoing treatment or in remission.
- Empowerment Through Education: Providing vital resources to ensure individuals and families are well-informed throughout their journey.
Our mission is to strengthen the community by creating a support network that empowers people to face the challenges of breast cancer with resilience and hope.
Our Commitment
At PTBCF, we are more than a foundation—we are a community of people working together to bring light and hope to those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. We are here for you every step of the way, offering not just assistance, but a compassionate, understanding hand to hold.
Together, we can create a future where breast cancer is no longer a burden. With your support, we can continue to provide critical resources and a sense of hope to those who need it most.
